ABOUT US:
Covenant Central Presbyterian Church is located in northcentral Pennsylvania approximately 90 miles from Harrisburg, the state capitol. Williamsport, the seat of Lycoming County, is nestled in a valley between the mountains and the banks of the Susquehanna River with a population of approximately 46, 478 in the 17701 area code. Neighboring boroughs and townships within a ten-mile radius of Covenant Central account for a population of 72,800.
Covenant Central's present building was dedicated in 1910
and in the past twelve years has undergone over one million dollars in renovations which included the installation of a Schantz pipe organ, restoration of the roof, a complete repainting of the sanctuary and the addition of a youth wing, new reception area and an elevator. Our handicaped accessible building is well maintained and our beautiful facility reflects our efforts to maintain the historic value within the community.
Covenant Central's morning worship service is broadcast live on WRAK 1400 AM. We have a broad range of music opportunities such as children, youth, and adult choirs, chime and bell choirs, and a Praise Band. Programs such as our Food Pantry, After School Program, "55 Alive" luncheons, Stephen Ministry, Jabez Club, First Place Groups, Dinner for Eight, Youth Groups, small groups, basketball teams and camping opportunities keep our ministry alive and growing. Come and see what it is all about! All who are seeking a Christ-centered faith , biblical teaching and an opportunity to serve our Lord are welcome!
"FUNDING THE FUTURE" AT KRISLUND
The session of CCPC sent $ 10,000 dollars to Krislund in early 2007 from restricted monies (much from memorials over the past five years) as our beginning commitment to the Funding the Future Campaign. Our church's total pledge over the next three years is $30,000.
Northumberland Presbytery has set a goal of $ 500,000 dollars over the next three years to help Krislund expand their facilities to become a retreat center for adults as well as running rustic children and youth summer programs. Three Presbyteries have entusiastically risen to the challenged to make this vision a reality....Northumberland, Huntingdon and Carlisle.
